DATA ANALYSIS AND PRESENTATION
4.1 Introduction
This chapter presents the data and interprets the data while at the same time being guided by the research objectives. The data collected will be treated with most confidentiality and shall only be used for academic purposes. Descriptive analysis and regression analysis where used in line with the objectives of the study/research. Regression analysis was used to establish the objectives of the factors affecting dairy production in Zimbabwe. ANOVA test was then used to compare the production of dairy products with production resources and production system in Zimbabwe. Out of 55 questionnaires distributed, 46 where returned therefore there was an 83.6% response rate. (Mugenda, 2008) Indicated that 50% response rate is adequate for an accurate analysis whereas 70% was regarded as very good for a proper analysis. This suggests that 83.6% is good enough for an analysis.
4.1.1 Demographic Profile of the Respondents

As shown figure.1 majority of respondents were of the age between range 41-50 years with 39% followed by age bracket 31-40years with a percentage of 28%. Respondents of age range above 50years contributed 22% of respondents and lastly respondents of age bracket 21-30 had the least percentage with 11%. This therefore has an implication that middle aged farmers dominate the dairy production sector as they constituted a total of 67% combined.

Figure 2 shows the majority of respondents as being males with 57% whereas their female counterparts had 43% thereby suggesting that males are dominant in the dairy production in Zimbabwe.

4.1.3 YEARS IN DAIRY FARMING

Figure.3 aims to graphically explain the experience of the farmers/respondents in as much as dairy production is concerned. It was therefore noted that 45.6% had been practicing dairy production for not more than 5years, those who had been practicing dairy for more than 5years and less than 10 years where only 30.4%. Those who had been in the dairy sector for more than 10years contributed 23.9% to the total sample size of the research. This therefore has indicated that there were a number of newcomers in dairy production as evidenced by the domination of farmers who had been practicing for less than 5years. 23.9% for those practicing dairy for more 10years shows that Zimbabwe at some point lost a great number of experienced farmers thereby supporting the data provided in Table.2. The 30.4% by farmers who had been practicing dairy for more than 5years therefore shows that the farmers have enough experience and evidence to address the objectives of the study.

The test for heterogeneity proved that there was no heteroskedasticity. Therefore according to the test we reject Ho and conclude that there was no heteroskedasticity.
