The roles of an assessor:
An assessors main role is to carry out assessments of their learners, ensuring that they are marked against a set criteria that is inline with the qualification specification.
The responsibilities of an assessor:
Carrying out assessments
Attending meetings, conferences and award events
Maintaining safe and accurate records
Coaching learners
Giving feedback
Suitable time for assessment:
Different stages of assessment are timed throughout the learners progress. This allows for the progress to be monitored and the candidate to visually see their progress.

Is the candidate ready?:
The learner must have sufficient time leading up to the assessment, time to prepare, time to establish notes and understand what the assessment is looking for. 1-1 questioning can be helpful before an assessment and provide revision for the learner.
